 FSX Aircraft: FS2004/FSX M?rko Morane WW2 Fighter

FSX Aircraft
Fs2004/FSX M?rko Morane WW2 Fighter The increasing obsolescence of the M.S.406 led the Finnish Air Force to order, on 22 October 1942, the installation of a Klimov M-105P in an M.S.406 airframe. The M-105P engine, derived from the HS 12Y, afforded 1,100hp for take-off, the prototype conversion was flown on 4 February 1943 as the M?rk? (Ghost) or M?rk?-Moraani. Fs2004/FSX M?rko Morane WW2 Fighter
===================================
The increasing obsolescence of the M.S.406 led the Finnish Air Force to order, on 22 October 1942, the installation of a Klimov M-105P in an M.S.406 airframe. The M-105P engine, derived from the HS 12Y, afforded 1,100hp for take-off, and a substantial quantity of this power plant, together with suitable VTSh-61P propellers, had been captured by the Wehrmacht and was available to the Finns. A 20mm MG 151 cannon was mounted between the cylinder banks, a Bf 109G oil cooler was adopted, an aerodynamically-improved engine cowling was introduced, and, with some local structural strengthening, the prototype conversion was flown on 4 February 1943 as the M?rk? (Ghost) or M?rk?-Moraani. Successful trials resulted in the decision to bring all surviving M.S.406 and M.S.410 fighters to M?rk? standard, but only two more were completed before termination of the Finnish-Soviet conflict. Nevertheless, the conversion programme continued, and by 21 November 1945, the remaining Morane-Saulnier fighters had been modified, bringing the total number of M?rk?s delivered into the Finnish inventory to 41 aircraft. These retained the two or (in the case of the M.S.410 conversion) four wing-mounted 7.5mm machine guns, but shortages of the MG 151 cannon necessitated this engine-mounted weapon being replaced by a 12.7mm Berezina UB machine gun in some aircraft. The M?rk? remained in service until 11 September 1948, when the survivors were placed in storage, being scrapped four years later.

General characteristics

903 kW (1,210 hp) at 2,600 rpm for takeoff
880 kW (1,180 hp) at 2,700 m (8,860 ft) cruise
Specific power: 25.8 kW/L (0.57 hp/in?)
Compression ratio: 7.1:1

Installation:
==============
-Unzip "M?rko Morane" into a temporary file and move the "M?rko Morane" folder into the main Aircraft directory.
-Attention...the panel.cfg files are different for FSX and FS2004.
-For FSX,change the FSXpanel.cfg into panel.cfg and let it replace the first one.
For FS2004,change the FS9panel.cfg into panel.cfg and let it replace the first one.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-Read instructions carefully when installing the gauges, say YES...when asked if the gauges sources should be trusted. If you say no....some of the gauges are not going to work !
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-Leave the "instruments" map in your panel folder.
-Copy the effects into the Microsoft GamesFlight Simulator Xeffects folder and the 20can.wave in the Microsoft GamesFlight Simulator Xsound folder.
ATTENTION :
-For FS2004, change the FS9_Wing_Guns.fx into FX_Wing_Guns
-For FSX change the FSX_Wing_Guns.fx into FX_Wing_Guns
NOTE: If you have trouble with the canopy and prop transparancies when flying with Acceleration, replace the the glass.bmp and prop_b.bmp with those in the "acceleration map".

Effects
--------
-On startup there is automatic engine smoke.
-Then follow the exhaust flames with smoke.
-Wing vortex effect appears by default at 2.5g or quick roll rate.
-Continuous blue flames with smoke if engine is running .
-Wing cannon with flash, smoke and falling cartridges can be triggered with the standard Strobe key (O). Remember this key is aliased to the lights key.
It is much nicer however if you put the FS2004 standard Strobe key (O) to the trigger from your joystick.You can change this in the Key menu.
It is a good idea if you replace the standard (L) key for lights by the L+CTRL, (normaly activating the landing lights only). This avoids you having to have all lights on when pulling the trigger.

Flying the model
================
This plane is a dream to fly scale aerobatics with. It is a non critical but powerful and precise flying machine.
-CTRL+E opens the canopy
-Radiator flaps are opened/closed by the close cowl key.
TAKE-OFF :if you have manual rudder enabled, be ready to apply rudder and brake when you hit the throttle !
Better apply throttle proportionaly and slowly at first.
1.Parking brake on, start engine, 1/4 flaps
2.Disengage parking brake
3.Hold enough LEFT rudder, brake to keep the aircraft straight.
4.Take off at about 85 Knots, wheels and flaps up at 110 Knots.
5.To fire guns activate O-key or trigger.
6.Approach at 25% flaps, wheels down at 120 Knots.
7.Touchdown at 80-85 Knots.
